Sustainability at Lamett.

For us, it's all about floors that do more than just look good. Floors designed for life means that we design with the future in mind, for your life and that of the planet. Every floor we make is a conscious choice: high quality, made to last and designed with respect for people and the environment. Because a floor that is truly for life starts with caring for the world we live in.

The CSRD legislation has accelerated our sustainability approach. It gave us the push we needed to stop handling our efforts in a fragmented way and instead take a targeted and strategic approach. No more isolated initiatives, but an ambitious and coherent sustainability policy based on a double materiality analysis.

Input from stakeholders, our internal risk management team and thorough desk research resulted in an extensive long list of relevant themes (IRO long list). A company cannot focus on all aspects at once. That is why we have identified three pillars through a careful selection process based on both material and financial impact. These will form the backbone of our sustainability strategy from now on.

Climate change

We are actively committed to reducing our ecological footprint. We do this by using raw materials efficiently, reducing emissions and promoting renewable energy. In this way, we are contributing to the transition to a low-carbon economy.

Our staff

Our people are our priority. We invest in fair and safe working conditions, encourage personal growth and attach great importance to mental well-being, with a focus on a healthy work-life balance.

business behaviour

Zakelijk gedrag

Transparency, integrity and ethical business practices are at the heart of our operations. We consciously choose partners who share our values and build long-term, sustainable relationships based on mutual trust.

Lamett's sustainability goals.

We aim to source at least 90% of our wood range from sustainably managed forests certified according to PEFC and FSC® standards by 2030. Currently, the share of certified wood is 70%, and we are committed to an annual increase of at least 5%. This ambition is part of our broader sustainability strategy and is embedded in our purchasing policy.

We will report transparently on our progress each year and work with suppliers to support them in their certification processes.

The remaining share of non-certified wood is subject to strict due diligence. We thoroughly check its legality, origin and sustainability. All suppliers are visited in person and evaluated for compliance with legislation and regulations and traceability.

We aim to source at least 90% of our wood range from sustainably managed forests by 2030.

Inland shipping

After several successful test shipments, Lamett has decided to switch to inland shipping on a structural basis, which has already led to an impressive 85% reduction in CO₂ emissions. According to calculations, this approach will avoid 250,000 to 300,000 truck kilometres between Antwerp and Zwevegem, a distance equivalent to approximately seven times around the earth. This approach fits perfectly with Lamett's ambition to become more sustainable.

Happy and sporty employees

Every week, Lamett organises sports sessions with a personal coach, for colleagues who want to work on their physical and mental well-being. These moments of physical activity not only support a healthy lifestyle, but also boost team spirit and workplace energy. We believe that you can only feel truly good at work if you feel good at home – and vice versa. By exercising together, we create space for balance, motivation and fun, both inside and outside office hours.

FSC® and PEFC as a basis

At Lamett, we work with wood that we can trace all the way from the forest to your home. Just as every tree is deeply rooted in its environment, we ensure that our supply chain is firmly rooted in transparency, safety and compliance with regulations. We check that everything is done correctly and expect our partners to adhere to the same sustainable and ethical standards. In this way, we are building a future together in which every piece of wood tells a story of care, respect and responsibility.

Sustainability as an opportunity.

Thanks to the omnibus proposal, Lamett is no longer subject to CSRD reporting requirements. This means we can put more energy into our actions than into our reporting. However, this does not change much for Lamett. We see sustainability not only as an obligation, but also as an opportunity to stimulate innovation and create value for our customers, employees and the wider community. We want to report transparently and objectively and will therefore focus on the VSME standard, a voluntary European standard for sustainability reporting.

You, as a stakeholder.

Would you like to stay informed about our sustainability efforts? Check back regularly on this page. This is where we will publish our first sustainability report in 2026, but we will also keep you informed of our successes, both big and small. We will be honest: unfortunately, not every action leads to success. Sustainability is a process of trial and error, making contacts, searching and not giving up. But we promise to communicate honestly. And above all: every step in the right direction should be celebrated!

We would greatly appreciate your contribution. As a stakeholder, you have the opportunity to actively participate in our sustainability initiatives. Do you have an innovative idea, a suggestion for improvement, or do you know someone who can help us realise our sustainability ambitions? Share it with us!
